Checking Video Game Ratings

Posted: Updated:

UNITED STATES--Video games are rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

They make sure the bottom left hand corner of each game box has a letter like "E", "M" or "T."

Each rating is consistent with the content, just like a movie.

But some people never pay attention to the letter.

If that happens, retailers are a line of defense.

Top 3 ratings usually found on video games

E- Everyone: Ages 6 and older
T- Teen: Ages 13 and older
M- Mature: Ages 17 and older
