WAPATO, Wash. - On Tuesday night a 32-year-old man was shot once in the chest on the 100 block of Winaway Road near Wapato.
It happened at 5:30 pm.
Police reported that victim was walking to the front of the house after the door bell rang. The suspect apparently fired one shot with a handgun.
First the victim was taken to Toppenish Hospital then transported to Yakima Regional.
Tuesday night the police were searching for two suspects. The victim told authorities that he did not know the suspect.
One suspect is described as a dark skinned male, wearing a blue bandana over his face. The second suspect remained in a marooned colored car during the attack.
Police say the four door vehicle was seen heading northbound on North Track Road.
Tuesday night the victim was listed in satisfactory condition. Police report his injured do not appear to be life threatening.
