YAKIMA, Wash. -- For the sixth straight year, Safe Kids of Yakima is promoting water safety through their "Kids Don't Float" program.

Life jackets are available to use, free of charge, at three different fire stations in Yakima.

According to the Washington State Department of Health, drowning is the second leading cause of death or injury among children 17 and under in the state.

The three participating fire stations are located at:

- the corner of 77th Avenue and Tieton Avenue

- 4007 Common Wealth Drive in Terrace Heights

- the corner of N. 40th Avenue and Englewood Avenue

When you are done with the life jackets, workers at Safe Kids ask that you please return them. They have many different sizes available for children and adults.
