Blossom Tournament Wraps Up in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash, - 115 of the region's top women's golfers hit the links today in Yakima.  The 56th annual Blossom Invitational wrapped up at the Yakima Country Club. Sahalee's Sue Orsino won the event for the sixth time, hitting a 151 over two days.
 This is her 6th Blossom win, her 35th trip to the Blossom tournament. She first played this course when she was 16 and played the PNGA Jr. Championship in 1968, so she knows the course. She just came back from a shoulder injury in Feb. and has only been playing for the past 5 weeks.
Highest local finishers were Pat Martin (YCC), she tied for 1st place gross in the Championship flight with 153 for the two days. Nancy Eglin (Elks) tied for 5th place gross in Championship flight.
Cindi Stewart (YCC) won 1st place net in the Championship flight. Robin Cole (3rd net), Caren Mackenzie (4th net) and Betty Gilmore (5th net) are all from YCC in the Championship flight.
