Meeting In Finley Monday Night To Learn About Proposed Road Construction Projects
FINLEY, Wash. - About 40 people turned out to learn about the different ideas being put forth in the effort to connect the town of Finley to I-82.
The project is called the Piert Road Extension. Monday night the public learned about 13 different proposed plans. The project leaders said that ultimately, the Benton County Intertie extension would provide a new access route from SR 397 I-82 by extending Piert Road.
In some cases certain people could loose their homes.
This has Finley resident Arlene Law concerned. She lives in an area that could be effected. She said, "I think the meeting was wonderfully informative. I think we needed to know all those things ... but it doesn't leave anything left of the country of Finley."
Monday night people came out to learn about the plans and ask questions. This June the engineers working on the project will release an official report.
Then the Benton County Commissioners are expected to make a decision July 2008.
