New Video Designed to Get Kids to Report Child Abuse on You Tube

Posted: Updated:

Kennewick -- Child abuse is a major problem in this country.   Now the Department of Social and Health Services has launched a new video to encourage the reporting of child abuse.  It's targeted at kids in particular.

The video--dubbed No Excuse 4 Abuse--uses cell phones and internet sites like youtube and MySpace.  Kids are the stars.

DSHS Communications Director Thomas Shapley is quoted as saying, "...with this video, the message to young people comes from other young people, not us adults."

No Excuse 4 Abuse is the first of many videos DSHS hopes to launch.  It features a phone number anyone can use to report abuse.  That number is 1-866-ENDHARM.

To see the full No Excuse 4 Abuse video launched by DSHS, go www.kndu.com or www.kndo.com and click LINKS.  There is a connection to youtube.com, where the entire video can be seen.
