Young Girl Nearly Drowns In Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A three-year-old girl jumps in a pool and nearly drowns at a Kennewick home. It happened Monday afternoon on the 2500 block of West 4th. Place.

The girl's father Timothy Clark told us the family had just gone inside the home, when his daughter Sheri Anne, snuck out the door into the backyard.

He showed us how the young girl climbed a ladder to get inside the pool. Clark says the family just got this pool over the weekend. Kennewick Police and Fire Department were called out to the home, but Clark says he was able to get to his daughter before they arrived.

"The little girl in the neighbor had seen her go in, was kicking the fence, and the dogs were barking, we fished her out and I picked her up and put her on the deck and gave her CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation," said Clark.

Clark says he was able to revive his daughter after three breaths. She was under water for just a couple minutes. She was transported to Lourdes Medical Center for treatment, and is now back home safe.
