Stolen Gas Reported At Columbia Park, Man Cited By Police
KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man admitted to police that he tried to steal gas from another car Monday evening.
It happened down at Columbia Park near the Playground of Dreams at around six at night.
Someone saw 24-year-old Anthony David Reid siphoning gas from another car then apparently leaving the scene, heading westbound in the park.
Police tracked him down in another part of the park.
Officer Chris Bennett said after some investigation Reid admitted to stealing about a half a gallon of gas. Reid was cited and released. Bennett said he wasn't taken to jail because he admitted to the crime and gave a written statement.
Police say with the high price of gas, it's a good reminder for people to be watching for this type of behavior.
