Richland -- After two years of hard work and planning, the new Veteran's Affairs Clinic in Richland is open.
The facility is to employ 20 people including doctors, nurses, and a psychiatrist. It's believed that the 17-thousand veterans in the area will receive better service than before. But it'll be busy. Just ask Stephen Prince who files 120 to 180 claims for aid for vets every month.
"The only way to say it is they get flooded at the clinic. We get flooded here. I've got clients booked out until the end of next month. There's just no time to do them."
Prince says he has filed as many as 9000 claims during his tenure as a service representative.
He says although the new clinic is a boon for vets, more space could be used even now. The facility is about 9000 square feet. It was once on Stevens Drive. Now the clinic is located in the Federal Building at 825 Jadwin.
