YAKIMA, Wash. - East Valley has never won a state baseball title, but this group of Red Devils may just have the talent and experience to change that. The Red Devils play Cedarcrest in the state semifinal game Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Yakima County Stadium. The Red Devils have never won state. They came close two years ago when they placed fourth. Seven seniors are on this year's team and know what to expect this weekend. "It's like a whole other world," said sr. SS Tyler Smith. "It feels like you're in the big leagues, but at the same time it's just another day at the office. We're just going to work." "We've got a large group of seniors," pointed out coach Jesse Benedetti. "Really they work hard but they have fun doing it. A lot of these kids had state championship goals coming in to the year and they've worked hard to attain it."
