Something to keep in mind this Memorial Day weekend is water safety.
The US Army Corps of Engineers says if you're going to be enjoying the holiday near the water, watch out for things floating in the water.
High flows have added floating debris to the water. This includes everything from small twigs to telephone pole size logs.
Walla Walla district staff say they want everyone to stay alert, to reduce the risk of an accident.
"The river is very turbulent and muddy looking and it might be hiding something just under the surface, we want people to have a safe happy holiday weekend, we really hope they keep an eye out if they're out in the water," said Gina Blatrusch, with the Walla Walla District The US Army Corps of Engineers.
Another reminder for anyone near the water this Memorial Day weekend, is to always wear life jackets when you're on the water and always be aware of what's around you.
