Kennewick - Mueller's Funeral Homes, Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Riverview Heights Cemetery and Kennewick Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5785 are holding a ceremony at 9:00am at Riverview Heights Cemetery, 1200 S. Olympia St. in Kennewick & Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. Presentation includes flag hoisting, placement of wreaths, music, salute and taps.
Kennewick - An uplifting Memorial Day for families and children from noon until 2:00 pm. 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick. Hot dogs, balloon launch at 1:00 pm, Veterans presentation.
Pasco: American Legion Post 34 in Pasco is holding a ceremony at 10:00 am at Columbia memorial Gardens, 224 S. 24th Ave. in Pasco & at 1:00 pm at Cityview Cemetery, 1300 N. Oregon Ave. in Pasco. Retired Superior Court judge Duane Taber is the speaker of the event. The presentation will inclued a hoisting of colors , placement of wreaths, playing taps and rifle salute.
Richland: Area Veterans and auxiliary groups plan an 11:00 am ceremony at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 915 bypass highway in Richland. The presentation will have wreath placement, music, honor guard and taps. There will also be 921 flags flown.
Yakima: At Yakima's Tahoma Cemetery at 10:00 am, the VFW Post 389 of Yakima will conduct a Memorial Day Service. For more information, call VFW Post at 457-5400
Yakima: The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 225 will host a memorial service for all veterans at the Korean/Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall at Sarg Hubbard Park on the Yakima Greenway at 1:00 pm. The event is featuring Lonnie James singing the national anthem, guest speakers Rep. Mary Skinner and Jesse Farias, mayor of Wapato and a Vietnam War veteran. Sunnyside: VFW Post 3482, Am-Vets Post 3733, and American Legion Post 73.Outlook Cemetery in Sunnyside at 9:30 am & at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery north of Sunnyside on Van Belle Rd. at 11:00 am.
Both programs will feature a wreath-laying ceremony, 21-gun salute, a reading of names of Sunnyside veterans who have died in combat, and the playing of "Taps".
Zillah: Zillah's American Legion Post 130 will host a Memorial Day Service at Zillah Cemetery at 11:00 am
Walla Walla: The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 922 will hold a Memorial Day service 11:00 am at Olney, where the avenue of flags of deceased veterans will be on display.
Hermiston: The V.F.W. and the Community of Hermiston will hold a ceremony at 10:00 am at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Pendleton: Memorial Day ceremony at 9:00 am outside Pendleton Pioneer Chapel.
Athena: Memorial Day observance, all day. Flags will line the main road going into town and nearly 250 gravesites will have white crosses, flags and poppies.
Ione: American Legion Memorial Ceremony, 10:30 am, the flagpole at Ione Community School. After honoring Ione soldiers killed in combat the event will move to the Legion Hall for a flag retirement ceremony.
