Novakovich says he has only one special interest. He says, "My special interest group is the people of the 8th district and I want to represent them. I want this job. It's something I've always done all my life. I've done similar things all my life, bring people together with resources and make better things happen. "
Novakovich says he wants to focus on healthcare, education, and small businesses. Also, as a retired Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel, he wants to focus on veterans' affairs.
