Two Students Ride Their Horses To School

HERMISTON, Ore.-- Two senior students at Hermiston High are trading in their trucks for some real horse power.

Matt Peterson and Bryce Baldock rode their horses to school on Wednesday for the last day of class. They say they did it for fun, but also to avoid paying for gas.

Matt told us he spend $150 filling up his tank a couple days ago. The students rode 7 miles to school along with horses Pepsie and Georgie.

"It kind of sends a message because diesel prices are so high and unreal," said Bryce Baldock.

"Yea, there was a bunch of people that came outside and there was a big crowd around us, they thought it was pretty cool that we rode our horses to school," said Matt Peterson.

Peterson says his brother followed them to school in his truck, with buckets of water for the horses. The teens left the horses at the fair grounds behind Hermiston High School while in classes.
