Naveed Haq Jury Asks Judge Important Question As Deliberation Continues in Seattle
SEATTLE, Wash. - (AP) A Pasco man on trial for murder in Seattle waits as the jury deliberates.
For a fourth day a Seattle jury is deliberating a verdict in the Naveed Haq case.
The jury had some questions for the judge on Wednesday. They asked the judge a question that indicated they hadn't been able to agree on a charge of aggravated murder which is the most serious charge that prosecutors are going after because Haq killed a woman.
The jury asked if they could move on to attempted murder charges which are linked to Haq wounding five other people. The judge told them they could.
The shooting happened almost two years ago at the Jewish Federation center.
The defense claims that Haq is mentally ill and thought he was on a mission from God when he started shooting.
Prosecutors say his plan was well thought out.
The jury is expect to continue deliberation on Friday morning.
