YAKIMA, Wash. -- Dogs and their owners from all over the state came to State Fair Park this weekend for the annual Yakima Valley Kennel Club Dog Show.
Over 800 dogs registered for events from grooming to obedience. Participants say the Yakima dog show is a good place for first time performers.
Connie Brunell has been showing dogs for nearly thirty years who says there can be come misconceptions from outsiders who've never been to a dog show.
"They probably think we're a bit eccentric, cause some people you know their dog is their best buddy and they would never think of showing it and that's fine. Your dog should be your best buddy and if you want to show it too, that's a bonus," said Brunell.
This was the 60th year for the dog show and today's nice weather drew some of their biggest spectator crowds in recent years.
