KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Another new restaurant has opened in the Tri-Cities. The kick-off came Monday morning and it all started with a pig in a convertible.
For those who love barbeque, the pig likely gives it away. Wilbur, as he's known, is the mascot for the restaurant Famous Dave's, a nationally known chain restaurant.
Besides being a bonus for the taste buds, Famous Dave's is also good for the Tri-Cities economy. 156 employees have been hired; and those workers on hand for the 'rib' cutting (they don't cut ribbons at Famous Dave's) made a lot of noise. Assistant manager Tim Stuart said it was all in the plan,
"It was a pep rally. We're all about ribs, and we just have fun being down here. It's a lot of fun here. We're a rib joint. We just have a good time. We're loud; we're boisterous; we cheer. It's fun!"
Famous Dave's is on West Gage, close to the Columbia Center Mall with PF Chang's is next door and Sonic drive-in just blocks away.
