Franklin County Deputies Arrest Man For KidnappingPosted: Updated:
PASCO, Wash.-- A five day long search for Saddie Elaine Julian finally comes to an end. The 14-year-old Boise girl went missing on Wednesday, May 28th. 27- year- old Morgan Douglas Jones of Birmingham, Alabama kidnapped Julian.
Franklin County Sheriff Richard Lathim says they met on an Internet game site.
"The typical thing we see now a days with young girls on the Internet is older men convincing them they're in love and having a relationship," said Lathim.
As of Monday morning police were still trying to find Jones. Just days before he was seen at the Comfort Inn in Kennewick.
"We have been able to confirm that our suspect did indeed stay here at the Comfort Inn on the 28th. but has since left," said Officer Joe Jackson, from the Kennewick Police Department.
Deputies found the girl with Jones at Palouse Falls State Park Monday morning, and it seems they had been around the area for a few days.
"There's some indication that they were seen in Connell over the weekend probably buying food," said Lathim.
Jones was booked into Franklin County Jail for kidnapping charges. The sheriff says he doesn't know whether the girl was willing to go along with Jones.
Deputies are also conducting their own investigation, to file possible rape charges against Jones in Washington.
"Whether she went willingly or not, we still have felony crimes committed because of her age," said Lathim.
