Kennewick Police Captain Under Investigation

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A member of the Kennewick Police Department is under investigation for claims of domestic violence.

On Tuesday we got copies of a restraining order filed against Timothy Harris. Harris is a Captain at the Kennewick Police Department.

These papers say 38-year-old Melinda Krejci has filed an order of protection against him. Harris isn't allowed to go within 250 feet of the woman's home.

According to the documents the order was filed because of domestic violence acts against the woman, but there was nothing physical.

Krejci claims she got several text messages and voicemails from Harris with foul language, and verbal harassment, but nothing has been proven. The Public Information Officer for Kennewick Police told us he didn't know about the case.

We talked to Benton County Sheriff Larry Taylor. He says the Benton County Sheriff's office is investigating. A hearing has been scheduled for Friday, June 6th.
