Mistrial Declared In Seattle Jewish Federation Shooting Involving Pasco Man
SEATTLE, Wash. - King County Superior Judge Paris Kallas declared a mistrial Wednesday afternoon in the case against 32-year-old Naveed Haq of Pasco.
The King County Courts tell KNDU that the jury was unable to reach a verdict in the eighth day of deliberations.
Earlier this week the jury told the judge they were only able to agree on one of the 15 charges against Haq. They also asked for the judge definitions of right and wrong. The judge did not give a definition and told them to continue deliberating.
Haq entered the Jewish Federation Center in Seattle in July 2006 and shot six people, killing one woman.
Jurors seem to be having trouble determining whether or not Haq was insane at the time of the shooting.
The outcome of this case will determine if Haq is sent to a mental hospital or prison.
