Gang violence threats to Connell High School Graduation
CONNELL, Wash-- Connell Police say there is a rise in gang violence in the area. There were two reported fights this week involving multiple gang members. Police say the groups are fighting over graffitti taggings.
Authorities discovered three baseball bats that they believe were used in the fights. There are also reports of a gun. One person was hospitalized. Police are going to use help from Franklin County Sheriffs Office for extra patrols.
Police also received tips that the gang may try to interfere with the Connell High School graduation ceremony at Esser Field.
They say this could be a reaction to a fight involving Connell High School students. Police say they are bringing in more officers and adding extra patrols.
