Fire Destroys Two Cars In Finley

FINLEY, Wash.-- A fire breaks out in Finley leaving two cars completely destroyed. Benton County firefighters were called out to a home off State Route 397 and Cochran Street.

Fire fighters say the blaze started at Kelly's Mobile Estates. Firefighters say a man was burning illegal materials.

This fire wasn't being watched and it quickly spread over two acres because the wind.

"You need to be burning the right stuff and you need to have an area around your burn pit that will not catch fire, so you can control it and you need to be standing around it with a hose," said Devin Helland, Public Information Officer for Benton County Fire District 1.

A Dodge pick-up truck and a Honda CRX. The home owners there told us as soon as they saw the flames they tried putting them out with a hose.

Benton county firefighters say this isn't the first time a fire has started here. The man who was burning his trash has previous charges.
