YAKIMA, Wash-The American Red Cross in Yakima says they are down in blood donations. They have seen about a third less of donors than in April. They usually see a decrease in donors during the summer months and that is why right now is the most crucial time for you to donate.
More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day in the United States. Unfortunately, hospitals do not always have enough blood for a blood transfusion.
Steve Stegeman the CEO of the Pacific Northwest American Red Cross says they are in need of all blood types.
You are eligible to donate every 56 days.
