A Yakima Shop can Teach You How to Save Money on Fuel
YAKIMA, Wash- A cheaper way to fuel your car is becoming more popular. It's called biodiesel and you can make it at home.
"It [biodiesel] can be and is a direct replacement for diesel fuel," says Don Mill the owner of Energy Cost Less.
Don Mills has workshops for people interested. He teaches you how to make it and provides equipment.
Biodiesel is made from a combination of chemicals mixed in with vegetable oil. It costs you a dollar per gallon. You also have to purchase a machine to convert the mix into biodiesel. Machine prices start at $2,000. Sounds pricey, but users say they save more money in the long run.
It takes a day and half to make 20 to 5,000 gallons of biodiesel depending on your machine.
Mills says the fuel doesn't harm your car and is environmentally friendly.
If you want to learn more about biodiesel or learn how to make your own call Energy Cost Less at (509) 910-8844. Don Mills has workshops Monday through Saturday.
