False Alarm After Someone Thought They Saw A Capsized Boat On The Columbia River
BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Richland Firefighters were called out for a capsized boat in the Columbia River on Wednesday evening.
Columbia Basin Dive Rescue, the Coast Guard and firefighters didn't find anything after searching the river for about an hour and a half. They looked on both sides of the river from Edison Street in Kennewick to Lee Boulevard in Richland.
Someone called 911 after they thought they saw an overturned sailboat.
Firefighters say with the warmer weather and more people on the water they get these types of calls.
They say the best way a witness can help is by giving an accurate location of the person they believe to be in danger.
