YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Ponderosa Assisted Living Center celebrated Flag Day a day early. The center held a ceremony where they raised a military burial flag of a person who'd lived there.
The late army officer fought in the Battle Of The Bulge.
His family donated the flag to the center to be hung on their flagpole. His wife, Jean Bottger, was at today's ceremony and says this is the perfect place for her late husband's flag.
"They kind of needed one and I had no use for this on a shelf, so I thought this would be the appropriate thing to do," said Jean Bottger.
