Reminder to Washington Boaters About New Education Law
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Boaters in Washington who operate a watercraft with more than 15 horsepower are required by state law to take and pass a boater education course. You will then get a card saying you passed and must keep it with you at all times when you're out on the water.
Boaters between the ages of 12 and 20 are required to have the boater education card this year. Next year it applies to everyone under 25, and everyone under 59 will have to have it in six years.
It costs only $10 for the course and card, and those are good for the rest of your life.
