RICHLAND, Wash.-- Scooters seem to be the way many people are getting around these days.
Mostly because it only takes about $5 to fill up. We talked to the owner of The Scooterz, Etc. store in Richland. He says right now people are reserving their scooters in advance, because there are only a few left in the store.
The prices range anywhere from $1,100 to $5,000, but for many that price is worth it.
"The money that I'll save from gas I'll pay this off quick, obviously everybody is getting one and I want to be a part of it, I want to save money," said Scott Aland, a Richland resident interested in buying a scooter.
"It's just that we were conservative, because we didn't think they were going to be sold so fast," said Steve Stallings, owner of Scooterz, Etc.
Stallings says he's sold more scooters in the last month than he's sold in the last year. He says they average about two to three per day. Right now he's waiting for another 40 to 75 scooters to come in.
Scooters can get anywhere from 70 to 100 miles for the gallon.
