Fundraiser For Young Boy Battling With Cancer In Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A family in Kennewick is asking the Tri-Cities community to help them save a young life from cancer.
Tanya and Mike Zaugg are having a fundraiser on Sunday afternoon for their son Aidan. Aidan is 6-years-old and was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer more than two years ago.
The boy's mother says after treatment, Aidan was stable for two years. After an MRI in Seattle last week, doctors think the cancer might have come back.
We caught up with Aidan and his family on Saturday. He told us what he's been up to since then.
"We kind of wanted to have some fun, we went and got Mario Kart, the last one in the Tri-Cities, we were hunting forever for it, we did a good job hunting for it," said Mike Zaugg, Aidan's father.
The family says if doctors find that the cancer is back, Aidan will head to Arizona for a treatment costing up to $75,000. An expense that isn't covered by insurance.
The fundraiser will be on Sunday, June 22nd. starting at noon at The Pub in Kennewick. Located at 7001 Clearwater Avenue.
There will be a car wash and silent auction. All the money raised will go to the Zaugg family. Aidan's grandfather also created a web site for more information on the young boy. Just head to the On-Air-Links Section of our web site to find a link.
