Memorial Services for Missing Boater are Planned for Saturday
KENNEWICK, Wash-- Memorial services are planned for Saturday. Divers still have not been able to find the 74 year-old's body since the accident on June 14th. Gilbert's anchored boat was hit by a smaller boat at full speed. Members of the family say they are still holding on to hope that his body will be found.
"Usually there's someone to say goodbye to and so i think that's probably the biggest thing is that there's really know person to say goodbye to," said Randy Barnes, son in-law of missing boater.
This Saturday the family will be holding a private ceremony for Gilbert and at 2 p.m. the Clover Island Yacht Club will remember their friend by forming a 'V' pattern with their boats on the Columbia. Each boat will pass by the spot where Gilbert was hit and pay their final respects.
