RICHLAND, Wash.--The Richland Planning Commission held their second hearing concerning development on the Richland Wye.
City leaders want to expand business in the area and they view the Wye as having tremendous retail potential.
City Of Richland Development Services Manager, Rick Simon, says homeowners are worried about possible increased traffic, noise, and property values.
Concerns that compete with business interests.
"It's always a matter of trying to achieve a balance that makes sense for both because to some degree, they have conflicting desires," explains Simon. Certainly, a residential neighborhood is not conducive for commercial development and vice versa."
Simon added Richland City Council will likely vote on the Wye proposal sometime after August.
