KENNEWICK, Wash. - The man accused of causing a deadly boat crash on the Columbia River appeared in Benton County Court Thursday to make his plea.

51-year-old Michael Nethercutt pled not guilty to homicide by watercraft and assault by watercraft.

Prosecutors said he drove into and killed 74-year-old Ed Gilbert. They said Nethercutt's blood alcohol level was more than four-times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Nethercutt's next court appearance is July 24th. His trial is scheduled for September 8th.
