Fever try to regroup before Boise trip

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The heat is rising for the Fever. The pressure is on this weekend in Boise. They have a 4-8 record, so they need to win their last four games to have a shot at the playoffs. Last weekend they lost their third straight game, getting upended by Arkansas at home. As they prepare to play the Burn Saturday, team leaders such as J.R. Thomas are trying to get team morale back on track.
"I spoke in the team meeting on Sunday that I personally have never been on a losing team in my career," said Thomas. "High school, peewee, never.  This is very frustrating. We use that as extra incentive to come out here and practice on a hot day. We just need to buckle down and get going."
The fever has averaged  just 30 points per game their last two games.  Last Saturday in the loss to Arkansas they scored a season-low 28.   Tali Ena will get the start at quarterback Saturday. Josh Kellett is still out with a broken foot.
"The offense doesn't work well unless everybody's on page with that one person, the quarterback," said WR Phil Goodman. "So we're just trying to work everybody back into the right rhythm to get everybody back in synch.
It's really not about us. It's about Tali having confidence in us and the O-line doing what they're supposed to do so they can do their job."
"We're a team to be reckoned with if we have all guys pumping on all cylinders," said Thomas. "That's the main thing-just  coming together as a team and believing in each other and in the system."
The Fever defeated Boise back on May 31 by a score of 57-46.
