Pasco Woman's Body Found in Kennewick's Columbia Park
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A Pasco woman's body is found on Columbia Park Trail early Saturday morning and police now have a suspect in custody.
The 28- year- old's body was found around 2:00 a.m. Saturday near Columbia Park Golf Course.
A Pasco police Sergeant says the woman was picked up in Pasco Friday night and stabbed at some point.
Kennewick police called in reserve officers Saturday morning and closed that section of the road for more than eight hours. As drivers on State Route 240 drove past the golf course they could see the investigation as it was happening. Police used a blue tarp to cover the scene as detectives looked for evidence.
A Kennewick police Sergeant says the suspect is 23- year- old Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong. She has been arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on an investigation hold. He says she's of Thai descent, but has lived in the United States most of her life.
Kennewick police are investigating this as a possible homocide.
An autopsy was performed on the 28- year-old's body Saturday afternoon. The Benton County Coroner says they were preliminary results but he can't give out any information as of Saturday night. Kennewick police say they will release more information on Monday.
