WHITE SWAN, Wash. -- State Troopers say alcohol was a factor in a car crash that killed 34-year-old Oscar Green on Friday night.
Green, a resident of Toppenish, was driving westbound on Branch Road, just north of White Swan, when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled down an embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers were taken to Yakima Memorial Hospital for their injuries. Gilbert Berry, 30, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, told witnesses that he was hitching a ride with Green. Berry was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is listed in satisfactory condition.
The other victim, an 8-year-old boy, told witnesses that Green was a friend of his. The boy's name has not been released.
