Rock-A-Thon Scheduled to Benefit the Dustin Sides Fallen Families Memorial Fund
UNION GAP, Wash-- Everyone is invited to rock out at the Denny's in Union Gap tonight, but this isn't your normal party.
It's a fundraiser with rocking chairs. And it benefits a great cause, the Dustin Sides Fallen Families Memorial Fund.
Dustin Sides was a young Marine from Yakima who died while serving in Iraq. Money raised during the event will go into a fund to help the children of fallen military members. When they turn 18 they can use the money for school or other expenses.
"This is about these families who don't have their brothers, sons, uncles because their fighting for us," said Sandy Graves, event organizer.
Pledges and sponsors will take turns sitting in eight rocking chairs, where they'll rock throughout the night. The event kicks-off at 7:00 tonight and goes until 7:00 Sunday night.
