Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash-- This weekend's festival is guaranteed fun for all ages.

Vendors prepare for this weekends events, unloading propane tanks and grills. Five stages have been set-up and there are plenty of canopies for all of the vendors.

Bands will perform at downtown venues tonight and Saturday. The stages at Franklin Park will be full Saturday and Sunday. Acts will range from traditional folk music, to modern country and even some younger rock bands.

"Up by the terraces at franklin park the fire department has donated a fire house and we hook into a fire hydrant and we're able to give the kids two or three hours of relief from the heat and some adults two who like to go down the slide," said Michael Smith, volunteer organizer for Folklife.

The museum is also open, children have the opportunity to make small airplanes and then take them outside for a fly. Over eighty volunteers help make the festival possible. The festival is free and goes all weekend.
