Cleanup Continues After Fire Hydrant Break Floods Market in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash-- The clean up continued today at the T and T Market on Columbia Dr. in Kennewick.
Three inches of water covered the market floor while 200k gallons of water poured onto the 200 block of East Columbia Drive .
Kennewick Utility Services says a truck may have bumped into the hydrant, causing it to break late Thursday night.
The owner of T and T Market says $900 worth of merchandise was ruined and he's unsure if there's any damage to the building.
"The water got inside and all over the floor. I had to put it in bags and dump it out the door," says Tong Ly, owner of T and T Market.
Ly says he was watching T.V. late Thrusday night when he heard a loud noise. When he looked outside, a pool of water was flooding the corner. Water came with such force, it caused the sidewalk outside to rise up and cracked the pavement.
