Vandals Hit Bombing Range Sports Complex In West Richland
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - West Richland Police were looking for the people who vandalized the Bombing Range Sports Complex over the weekend.
Police said the suspects forced their way into new concession stand at the complex and broke display cases.
The West Richland Police Chief said the complex is a hot spot for problems.
Since 2006 police have been called to the Bombing Range Sports Complex 117 times with 13 reports of malicious mischief.
They've seen everything from graffiti, stolen items from the concession stand and even feces smeared all over the bathroom wall.
Police want people to report suspicious activity.
Chief Layne Erdman said, "If people are driving by and see something we need them to be the eyes and ears for us because we can't be everywhere in the community at the same time so in order to maintain these parks ... they need to step up and help us out."
In 2006, $1,000 dollars worth of candy was stolen from the concession stand.
Erdman said it costs tax payers money to replace vandalized equipment.
