BENTON COUNTY, Wash- A number of the Tri-Cities Firefighters who went to help fight the Valley View Fire in Spokane arrived home Tuesday afternoon.
Over 1,000 acres has burned and as of Tuesday afternoon 90 percent of the fire was contained.
Firefighters from all over the state were called to help get it under control.
15 firefighters from the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla area went to help.
Dustin Ney is a volunteer with Benton County Fire District 4. He arrived back in West Richland this afternoon.
He said it was cooler in Spokane but the flames were very intense.
Ney said it was amazing to go up there and see the sheer destruction that a fire can cause and how quickly it can cause problems.
The fire started on Thursday and Destroyed 11 homes.
Ney said he saw one home that had complete burned to the ground with only pillars left standing and saw another home with only chimney remaining.
