Two People to be Sentenced Wednesday for Murder of Pendleton Man.
Pendleton, Oregon. - Two people who pled guilty to killing a man in a pendleton robbery are scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday.
30-year-old Erin Fragua, and 25-year-old Martin Daniels pled guilty to charges of the murder of 47-year-old Alfonso Ibarra-Varella in July of last year. Both are expected to get life sentences with no possibility of release for at least 30 years.
According to the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office, Fragua and Daniels along with a third person involved, 43-year-old Joann Saffery tried to rob Ibarra-Varella using a knife. They then stabbed him on the 500 block of 15th Street in Pendleton. He later died at Saint Anthony's Hospital.
Both Fragua and Daniels are scheduled to be sentenced today in a Umatilla Court.
The trial for Joann Kuulani Saffery is scheduled to begin in November.
