YAKIMA, Wash--Detectives are searching for Vicente Diaz. He's wanted for first degree murder.
Smoking a cigarette outside her home last night Maria Moya had no defenses as her son-in-law came around the corner and shot her to death. The suspect, 45-year-old Diaz had recently split from his wife who was living with Moya at the time. Neighbors saw Diaz in the 600 block of South 16th Avenue earlier in the day yesterday.
Police say later that evening Diaz, walked into Moya's yard and shot her multiple times in the head and upper body. All while Moya's daughter and grandchild were inside the home.
Diaz ran from the scene and hopped in his truck that was parked just around the corner. He drives a red and white '89 Chevrolet truck. With Washington license plate number A10792L.
