Sergeant Retires 30 years to the Day from Getting his Badge

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Kennewick Police Sgt. Randy Higgins is turning in his badge for the relaxed life 30 years to the day after first taking his oath.

Higgins has been with KPD his entire career.

Among the seven officers Higgins hired on with were current Chief Ken Hohenberg and Officer Ken Taylor, both still with the department.

Higgins says he'll continue on with police work on a contractual role though, helping the department part-time with background checks on new officers.
