Tri-City Slips By Boise 4-3Posted: Updated:
Tri-City jumped on Boise early and held on to get the much-needed win. The Dust Devils put up all four of their runs in the second inning, making the most of only one hit. Boise starter Jeffery Beliveau (1-1) helped the Tri-City cause as he walked three batters and hit another in the inning.
Boise put up one run in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh, but Tri-City closer Austin Chambliss hurled a perfect 9th inning, with two strikeouts, to earn his Northwest League-leading 8th save of the year.
Dust Devils starter Kenny Durst (3-3) played the role of "streak stopper" as he threw five innings of solid baseball, allowing only one run on four hits.
Charlie Blackmon extended his hitting streak to 11 games for the Dust Devils by going 2 for 3 with one RBI and two stolen bases.
Tri-City hits the road Sunday for a five game series in Eugene versus the Emeralds.
