Teens lead Idaho police in vehicle pursuit before crashing

BONNER COUNTY, Idaho - Two teenagers were arrested Saturday after leading police in a pursuit for more than thirty minutes.

Idaho State Police got a call around 11:00 p.m. Saturday about a vehicle burglary and traffic complaint in Sagle, Idaho.

The caller had followed the suspects into Kootenai County, where an ISP sergeant tried to stop their vehicle.

The driver, 19-year old Tyler Campbell, refused to stop, and a pursuit began, continuing through both towns of Post Falls and Rathdrum.

Authorities say the vehicle was first driven by Campbell and later by 19-year old Shayla Grafe.

Grafe crashed the vehicle near the state line after trying to shake officers for more than 30 minutes.

Neither suspect was wearing a safety belt, but neither was injured in the crash.

Both were taken into custody pending several charges.

Police say alcohol was a factor.

Idaho State Police are continuing an investigation.
