Kennewick Man is Tased After Assaulting his Girlfriend

KENNEWICK, Wash-- A man is tased in Kennewick after assaulting his girlfriend. Benton County Emergency Services Dispatchers received a call from a woman hiding in a apartment bathroom on North Mckinley St.
She said a friend was being attacked by her boyfriend and when Kennewick Police arrived, 29-year-old Enrique Guevara, was hiding behind the front door.

Officers say Guevara was drunk and did not want to be arrested.

"While struggling to get him handcuffed he was failing to comply and wouldn't but his hands behind his back. Another officer used the taser in order to get pain compliance to get him hand cuffed," said Ofc. Paul Reynolds, Kennewick Police Department.

Police say Guevara and his girlfriend were having an argument about his drinking problem. She was not seriously injured, but did have some cuts and bruises.
Guevara is in the Benton County Jail for domestic assault and resisting arrest.
