KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A train started a two acre fire in Kennewick Tuesday evening. It burned along the train tracks parallel to Canal Drive near Volland Street.
KNDU talked to one woman who told us her friend saw the fire and said it looked like sparks spewing from the train tracks.
The dry brush and high winds caused the fire to spread quickly toward nearby homes. Firefighters said no one was evacuated and many homeowners did a good job wetting down everything in their yards.
