The Washington State Housing Finance Commission Announces Tax Credit for Housing
YAKIMA, Wash-- Washington will soon be receiving tax credits, this means more housing for Yakima.
In a meeting today the housing commission shared the good news with it's constituents in Yakima. A housing stimulus bill they have been working on for years will soon go into effect. The bill will work as tax credits towards multi-family residential construction as well as assistance for single family residents.
This much needed boost will help people in Yakima who are classified as moderate or low income families.
"It means that we have more money to issue in tax credits which help developers build residents for multiple family residents that accommodating low income people," said Karen Miller, chair of the Washington State Finance Commission.
The tax credit bill will last for ten years. The commission expects to spend over $170 million in Yakima County alone. Money from the bill will also go towards assisted living homes for the elderly and disabled.
