YAKIMA, Wash. -- According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas stood at $3.95 Monday morning. In Yakima and the Tri-Cities, it is still well above the $4.00 mark.
The national average of $3.95 is down 15 cents from a month ago, but is significantly higher than it was last year. Last July, the average price was about $2.90 a gallon.
The Tri-Cities has the second highest average in Washington at $4.26 a gallon.
Yakima is close behind at $4.23 for a gallon of regular.
