PASCO, Wash. - Tuesday the family of 20 year-old Sharlene McCaa are happy to know she is okay.
Sharlene was originally living in Detroit, Michigan. She moved to Pasco with a friend to sell magazines and soap, but then she apparently decided to move back to Detroit.
However, police said that on the bus ride home she met another man and decided to go with him to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Her family had not heard from her since July 2nd and they were frantic. They called Pasco Police and the KNDU newsroom July 24th.
We ran pictures of Sharlene on the air asking anyone with information to contact the police.
Meanwhile, Pasco Detectives looked for the young woman. Detectives went to the bus station, knocked on doors and interviewed people in the area where she had been living.
After many phone calls police were tipped off that she was in Milwaukee.
Sharlene's mother died when she was 8 years old. Her aunt, JoAnne McCaa was her guardian and delayed her deployment back to Afghanistan while she searched for her niece.
She said she is so grateful to know that her niece is alive and safe.
